VOCACION MONÁSTICA

La joven que aspira a ser monja, probablemente sin ser del todo consciente, quiere encarnar una dimensión importante de lo que significa SER CRISTIANO.
Quiere vivir su condición de bautizada RADICALMENTE. Por ello abandona su familia, sus amigos, otros apoyos y busca la soledad, porque necesita entrar en comunión con Dios y con todos los hombres, en el seno de una Comunidad.

ETAPAS DEL PROCESO VOCACIONAL

Quien está en DISCERNIMIENTO podrá pasar unos días en la hospedería y solicitar conversar con alguna hermana.
Si después de un tiempo de acompañamiento como aspirante, ve que el Señor la llama, podrá pedir hacer una experiencia dentro del Monasterio.
Si se confirma su llamada, se determinará una fecha de entrada para comenzar como postulante.
Concluido el Postulantado la joven tomará el Hábito Monástico y dará inicio a la etapa del Noviciado que durará dos años, al final del cual hará su Profesión Temporal.
Al cabo de cinco años o más, la monja se comprometerá definitivamente realizando la Profesión Solemne.

¿EN QUÉ CONSISTE LA PROFESIÓN MONÁSTICA?

En la profesión monástica o profesión solemne, la monja siguiendo la Regla de San Benito, promete tres votos:

estabilidad,
conversión de costumbres
y obediencia.

Por el voto de estabilidad, la monja se liga al Monasterio de su Profesión, se asocia a la familia monástica allí existente. cf RB 58

Por este voto se fortalece la VIDA COMÚN, que es el lugar donde las monjas ejercitarán con la más genuina caridad, el celo bueno que conduce a Dios y a la Vida Eterna. cf RB 72,2-3

Por el voto de conversión de costumbre, la monja se compromete a buscar sin cesar a Dios mediante la PUREZA DE CORAZÓN, a seguir el anonadamiento de Cristo y afanarse por una conversión interior del espíritu a Dios. Este voto incluye la castidad y la pobreza.

votospies_cristoLa obediencia humilde y solícita es propia de la monja que nada estima tanto como a Cristo. cf RB 5,2. Por el voto de obediencia, abrazado con espíritu de fe y amor en el seguimiento de Cristo obediente hasta la muerte, la monja RENUNCIA A SU PROPIA VOLUNTAD para vivir LIBREMENTE
“BAJO UNA REGLA Y UN ABAD”. RB 1,2
La promesa contraída no significa que la hermana haya terminado su camino, es algo que durará toda la vida hasta el encuentro final con el Señor: la Profesión definitiva, en la que volverá a cantar, como en el día de su Profesión Solemne:

“RECÍBEME SEGÚN TÚ PROMESA Y VIVIRÉ, SEÑOR, NO DEFRAUDES MI ESPERANZA”.

LOS OBLATOS

El Oblato benedictino es un cristiano que, impulsado por el deseo de llevar una vida más perfecta conforme al ideal del Evangelio, se vincula a una familia monástica de su elección por un lazo de orden espiritual, a fin de poder, gracias a esa afiliación, compartir más intensamente las oraciones y méritos de esa comunidad, obteniendo para sí mismo, en esta comunión vital, un crecimiento en fervor y generosidad al servicio de Dios.
